About Us
The Lake City Betterment Association is a non-profit organization incorporated in the 1990’s.
Our Mission is:
“To create opportunities for community enrichment & enjoyment.”
This is achieved through 3 major goals:
- Provide business development opportunities
- (Organization of collaborative business advertising opportunities, business education opportunities, community coffees, new & retiring business
support, small business loans, online advertisement through the Lake City website)
- Sponsor events to promote the Quality of Life
- (Western Days Celebration, Fall Festival & Dell Blair Memorial Chili Cook-off, Christmas Festival, Jazz Band in the Park, Progressive Dinner,
Crazy Day, Garage Sale Day, Community Coffees)
- Encourage City Beautification
- (Community Christmas decorations, community banners, downtown planter boxes)
We are have 11 active board members and 1 Student Representative from the local South Central Calhoun High School. We also have a part-time coordinator that is
located “On the Square” in downtown Lake City.
Our board members represent a variety of businesses and aspects of the community. They meet monthly on the second
Tuesday of the month at 6pm in the Lake City Library. Anyone is welcome to attend the monthly board meetings. We currently have 92 members, and growing, that support
our organization.

Lake City Betterment Committees and Structure
Over the Summer of 2011 the LCBA Board of Directors has spent time developing and organizing committees to help build up the mission and vision of the organization. Each committee is chaired by one or two board members and then has spots open for LCBA members to serve on. This is way to gain new ideas for areas of the LCBA and also a way to let the members be heard and have an input in their organization. If you are interested in being on a committee please contact the coordinator, Anne Reiter.
